Richard has been fishing for 27 years after taking his first trip in a pushchair at just 4 years old catching Coal-fish in Plymouth with his Father. A real passion and dedication for the sport was cemented at 12, when landing a summer job in a local tackle shop. He enjoyed the role for 6 years gaining a wealth of knowledge and experience listening to local and traveling anglers alike whilst honing his own skills as an angler.

Richard’s focus leans mostly towards shore fishing these days but he is equally at home on the boat, additionally he is an avid Stillwater Trout Angler when time allows. His real passion though, is for rough ground fishing targeting Conger Eel, Bull Huss, Rockling, Wrasse and Pollack (with the occasional Bass thrown in for good measure) Covering predominantly the South West coastline.

“My main aim is to maximise successful landings of quality specimen fish, whilst reducing tackle losses in some very demanding environments and conditions. I love the trill and excitement as your rod bends right over and you can feel that big fish nodding and banging away, the battle is on!“
