Hey there, I’m Luke, and I’ve been hooked on fishing since I was a little tyke of 4. I used to tag along with my dad on our trusty 18ft Mayland family boat, and guess what? I’m 17 now and still get that same pre-fishing trip buzz. Our family’s love for fishing has grown, just like our boat – a Beneteau Antares 8, which we affectionately call “Squidward 3.”  

Weekends? You’ll find me out on the water, casting lines, and living the dream. But what really gets me going is the whole prep routine – from catching bait to rigging up and targeting specific fish. It’s the kind of stuff that keeps me coming back for more. 

Fishing isn’t just a hobby; it’s a whole community. No matter your age or how long you’ve been at it, once you’re an angler, you’re part of the gang. We’re all about sharing the love for the sport, whether it’s competing or just kicking back by the water, making new pals is all part of the deal.  

I’ve soaked up a ton of knowledge over the years, and the beauty of fishing is that the learning never stops. Fellow anglers are always keen to dish out tips and tricks, and after a lot of trial and error, I’ve nailed down my own techniques. Picking the right hook, the right line, and the right approach – it’s led to some pretty impressive catches.  

My stomping grounds are mainly in the Solent area, but I love venturing out to deeper waters east and west of the Isle of Wight, chasing those big fish dreams. And hey, we’re not shy about sharing our family adventures – you can catch us on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.  

Lately, I’ve been on the move, traveling across the UK, hitting up some of the coolest small boat competitions. While I’ve had a blast going after all sorts of fish, I’ve got a soft spot for Bass and Tope on lighter gear. But if I had to pick, my top three highlights have to be nailing a Tuna down in Mylor, Cornwall, joining the CHART program, wrestling with common skate in Scotland, and the granddaddy of them all – the graceful porbeagle shark. That’s my fishing story, in a nutshell! ??
