Cox & Rwle Hooks

Charlotte Sperrin

Having grown up in West Cornwall, I’ve always been a stones throw from the shore. Swimming, surfing and watersports were all good fun and easily part of daily life when you are surrounded by the blue sea.

I moved to North Somerset a few years ago and it wasn’t until the lulls of the first lockdown during the pandemic that I picked up my first fishing rod. I missed the outdoors and needed an escape from the four walls of the house. I was instantly – pardon the pun – hooked!

I spent lots of time trying to gain information online and visited lots of different venues nearby but it wasn’t until I plucked up the courage to take part in some local matches that I began to gain some valuable knowledge from fellow anglers.

In such a male dominated sport I would love to encourage more women to give sea fishing a try, even if only for an escape from daily routine and to enjoy the great outdoors!

I’m still very much learning and enjoy all aspects of sea fishing. I spend most of my free time pleasure fishing the Bristol Channel but travel further afield as much as possible including taking part in league matches along the south coast.

Cox and Rawle have been a firm favourite since I began tying rigs and I’ve found their products to be second to none. I’m looking forward to working with them during my fishing journey and continue my hunt for new species, specimen fish and the overall thrill of my much-loved new pastime!
